Looking to get my first pair of glasses. A bit stumped by the choice. At the moment i'm considering two pairs, APTONIA XUDD 900 photochromic glasses for 29.99 from Decathlon uk, and UVEX sgl 101 glasses 2012 for 24.99 from Chainreactioncycles.

I'm not tied down to these 2 pairs. If anyone can comment on the above pairs or any other glasses for me to consider it would be of help.

thanks!

Just bought 2 pairs of Bolle Contours from Amazon in different colours after reading recommendations on here. Astounding value for money and can really not understand why anyone would pay any more for mtb glasses.

I had some of these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=26714 in yellow.

Cheap, functional, indestructable but not immune to flying off your head into the woods when you fall over while cross country skiing at night. Very hard to find in those circumstances. But lasted 2 summers and 1 winter.

I now have these http://ryderseyewear.com/node/6438 from my local shop - cant notice the photochromatic thing but very comfy, vented, hold to head well and dont look too mong (because a mong owner with mong glasses = mong squared = bad news)

  • Got 2 pairs. One of 3 and another with 4 inter-changeable lenses. Both sets cost about £7, one from Aldi and the other from Lidl. They are ok but not very scratch resistant.

I've a set of bolle saftey glasses ones with less frame (dead cheap on amazon etc ) to them two of us ride with them or did till the other lad lost his the other night while they were hooked on his bag no point in spending lots on a set as the other night proved
  • Aldi selling sports glasses £4.99 the other week. 3 sets of lenses, case and strap. Almost disposable at that price.

  • I've been using these for the past year, the interchangeable lenses are still a good fit in the frame and they don't scratch easily.
