Internal Cable Routing

On my old Principia RSL frame, it has two holes in the top tube for internal routing of the rear brake cable. Now I'm wondering how this is meant to work. Do you install two ferrules in the holes and run bare cable inside the frame, or are you meant to run the cable and outer in one continuous line from lever to calliper?

Thanks.

    how big is the hole

if its too small to take outer..........

if its too big just for the wire............

    what was in there before??
  • As posted it depends on the size of the hole, for example,

Some frames have the outer cable mount on the inside so it would hold the outer and there will be bare inside the frame, some will run ferrals which slot into the frame first to hold the outer cable and some will just use outer cable the whole length of the frame,

If you could get a picture up or even give more info I'm sure there will be an answer given :)

Thanks guys, I think that's given me the answer. It has a rubber plug in that you can fit the outer through without much force. I think I'll have to run the whole outer as one run because being rubber I can push a ferrule through it so I think that would just get sucked in if I tried to use one!
