Hi

I thought i'd sign up and introduce myself after lurking for a while. I have in the last few months started cycling long distances rather than going for the occassional 10-12 mile ride.

I used to do a fair bit of mountain biking but that was nigh on 10 years ago and in South Wales. So work took me to Oxfordshire and strangely the MTB'ing in this area is a little dissapointing . So started doing road rides on and off and then a few years ago invested a road bike. I loved the bike but never really made any massive improvements until June this year when I got involved in a 75 mile charity ride (the longest previous event I had been involved in was the 50km Merida marathon from Builth Wells). I must admit I loved it and also some of the people i was with introduced me to Strava.

I'm hoping to go on one of the local club runs this coming Sunday which will be a pleasant challenge for me as they are usually 16mph avg and 40-50 miles

Cheers Andy

    Hi there.

Welcome to proper cycling. None of this filthy off-road malarkey ;-).

Joining a club sounds like a good plan.
