Hey folks,

So I dragged my old Saracen Mantra out of the shed a couple of weeks ago, cleaned and lubed her and then hopped on for a brisk ride. After finding the tyres were shot and the tubes weren't much better, I spent the usual MTB amount of £50 plus swapping them and went off to Sherwood Pines with a friend.

Ridiculously envious of his La Pierre Zesty 314, in comparison to my old beast, so saving up.... In the meantime I'm looking for local rides to enjoy the old hard tail and get back into the sport! Also any cheap shops for kit would be great, and suggestions for a replacement full sus bike when the time comes (Xmas at a guess) - budget being 1-1.5k ish.

Thanks in advance for the welcome!

Andy

  • Theres loads of good places to ride around Sprotborough in Doncaster.

Start at The Boat Inn pub and just follow your nose. There's loads of good stuff, especially if you head up the canal towards the big viaduct (Conisborough way). Go over it and you will find loads of trails of varying difficulty.

Hours of fun to be had there.

Thanks, I'll check that out - just a spit away from me.
