Hi forum,
Just getting into this cycling lark, and although i quite enjoy training on my own (reason for cycling is my plural chins), i think it would be more fun with a wingman (or more).
I've googled quite a lot, but i was wondering if anyone knew of a decent informal club in chehire? I've seen macc wheelers, but they do training rides at 20mph plus - and i'm not only not that fit, but also on a mountain bike. Meanwhile, the bollington club is all ofroad, although the website comes accross as a really fun.
Are there any clubs for road cyclists that arent roadies? Looking for social / fitness, ideally without the budgie smugling.
Cheers

Weaver Valley have a broad spread and are welcoming but maybe out of your patch ? they are more Northwich based"I get paid to make other people suffer on my wheel, how good is that"

Sorry for the late reply
I also live in wilmslow and ride with the macc wheelers, the easy ride is just that about 35 to 40 miles every Sunday, very mixed group (from 13 to 70) good fun, easy way into riding in a group and you don't need to be a member. Always wait for the slowest, mechanical breakdowns etc and stop for a big lunch :-)
Average speed is normally about 14mph (but always ride at the speed of the slowest)
Next ride is this Sunday from Lindow common carpark (wilmslow)

Thanks vroom. I'm doing the bollington bikefest this week, but will check out future rides - i can do 14mph on flat, might have to train for a couple of months to keep up tho![urlhttp://veloviewer.com/SigImage.php?a=f3252&r=3&c=5&u=I&g=s&f=abcdefghij&z=a.png]Veloviewer[/url]0

I'm in Macclesfield Wheelers, a cracking club.
The Sat and Sun club runs are steady social rides.
The Monday night training ride is steady and there is a slower thursday night training ride ideal for those riding in a group for the first time with the mphasis on sticking together. (there is also a rapid thursday night one too though!)Insta: ATEnduranceCoaching
