Alleyway between Provost Street and East Road by Old Street Roundabout - between 9pm and 4am Friday night / Saturday morning 17th / 18th August.
Call me naive, but I thought decent bikes got nicked with bolt cutters? In this instance my D-lock (silver rated Krytonite) and helmet were still locked round the railing with no trace of the bike. Are the locks pickable and they left the helmet to mock me? Or did they break the frame?
Here's a photo, it's the one in front of course.
Have reported it to police for what's that worth. Checking frame number from paperwork pile at home later.
Pretty distraught and feeling pretty stupid but also a little confused. As and when I try to replace it what's the lesson here re D-locks etc? Just use two? Or what?
