Baldness cure in 2 years

As one of life's slapheads I'm naturally drawn to articles about baldness to see what snake-oil they're peddling. Via Yahoo the Telegraph reports that there could be a cure in around 2 years and it seems fairly credible.

I didn't find going bald in any way traumatic and I've never really been given a hard time about it (some have tried, but it's normal male pattern stuff, I'm not in the least bit vain and I just don't care), so I'm quite comfortable with it.

So, I was wondering, if this cure works, what would be the point? Would the baldies of the forum consider using it and, if so, why? In a world full of blokes with a lush bonce would I be considered a freak. What are the implications for Clare Balding?

    I'd use it.

Baldy is not a strong look.

    Manageable, but not good.

I'm ginger and baldness offers me some blessed relief...unfortunately, at the age of 47 I still have a very full head of hair and not a grey one among it. Damn, damn, damn!!

Wouldn't go back. It's not worth the bother.
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

I'd give it a go, as long as its not too much bother. I'd probably still shave my head but would look better with a full head of stubble. :D

I wouldn't go there, it'd be like wearing a woolly hat all day.

Mrs prefers me bald, and I prefer it too. Sooner all my headhair falls out the better.

What we really need is the opposite of the purported cure. I want a lotion to spread on those areas where I do not want hair. Face, legs, pits, naughty bits etc. MPB in a bottle, if you will. Something that does not hurt quite as much as Veet, though!

Interesting that the first 2 replies were from site admin. Is it a prerequiset of being a BR admin that you have to have a shiney pate? Are BR meetings like a hall of mirrors?

I wondered that too. Imagine it grew into a mullet ... and that was it for all eternity!

Went for some drinks with some of the guys over at the commuter forum a week or two ago.

I think all bar one was balding.

That will be down to all the worrying over what goes on in Bottom Bracket or Cake Stop.

I'm an outdoorsy type of bloke and would like more hair to protect my head from the sun.

Would go for it for that more than vanity, because to be honest my hair has always looked absolutely shite, even as a teenager.

Oh god! Think of the expense of having to go back to the hairdressers again!

Still, I'd probably give whatever it is a go as long as it was reversible and I could go back to being bald again!

Who'd really want all of the hassle of hair again? not me. Why is it called a "cure" is baldness an illness?

It'll probably be expensive - it's a pure vanity thing, so it'll be priced as a luxury good. Fortunately hats are still reasonably priced and widely available
