Not entirely scot free though. The doctor Schmid was fined 3 months salary for having provided ex T-Mobile rider Christian Werner with dope.
That must have been a long way back – Werner retired in 2005, aged 25, disillusioned at not having made the big breakthrough (though popular with the girls for his grin and his suggested shyness).0 -
