Of reading about altercations with other road users on this forum i too can be added to the list...

Whilst out on my ride yesterday i made my way round a roundabout and was honked at and gestured to by some muppet (for no reason at all) so this dipstick decides he wants to have a word and signals me to pull over,so i promptly change direction and go see what all the fuss is about,so said Dickhead leaps out of his car to which i start off by saying "Wtf is your problem" to which he starts shouting and swearing about me going round the roundabout infront of his car.....???

So after the intial outburst i realise that he is clearly not going to throw a punch,)so i dont even get off my bike)happily i exchange verbal insults with him until he get's bored and crawls back underneath the rock from wence he came...

I'm pleased to say that the rest of my ride in the 30 degree heat was without incident....

Dickheads don't understand lane discipline/primary positioning, way too many syllables.

I too had my first altercation with a car driver whilst cycling yesterday. I was riding a sportiv and approaching a junction with a group of other cyclists a man in a blue Mercedes heading towards us waved us down, and through the window he shouted " I'm reporting all you w4nk3rs to the police" then he drove off. We didnt even get a chance to reply.

Most odd, and quite how he is going to report all 1600 of us to the police remains to be seen. Someon must have incurred his displeasure, but who I don't know. Oh well!

Yep I got told off the other day for cycling in a straight line.

I pulled up to some lights where the signage on the road indicates road users can either go straight on (currently red) or turn left at some lights (currently green) . I was going straight on so decided to pull in tightly to allow any cars get passed me, as the first car passes me a woman rolls down the window and reprimands me for not indicating within my lane whilst going in a straight line.

    God help us

    Worse than that.
My commute takes me along a wide road that has been split into dual carriageway (30mph).
The left lane for turning left or going straight, the right lane for turning right or going straight.
As I am turning right, I always manouvre into the right lane and indicate to be turning right,
I usually get stopped at the lights so if I hear a car approaching from the rear, I will turn my head and make a point of indicating that I am turning right.
The amount of dozy gits who still pull up behind me wanting to be going straight on and get held up as I wait for a clear gap coming the other way is unbelievable! :? They even do it when the inside lane is empty. Sit and wait revving their engine.
    Bloody outside lane drivers
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

annoying, but not as scary as the scene on friday morning when the group were just setting off and going down to the first roundabout - thankfully, we were still 50m short when a local on a Ramadan breakfast sugar-rush decided he would indeed try to two wheel his matt black landcruiser towards and around the obstacle - madness
