Commuting with arthritis

1st post....
Hi , Iv'e been lurking behind the scenes and would like some advice, As the title suggests I suffer with arthritis (neck, back & Chest) I try and keep fit by exercising on an indoor recumbant bike. I'd like to try and use a bike as my main form of transport. I've looked at a couple of Hardtail and Road bikes, but I don't think a Road bike would be suitable for me..... I've read the reviews for the Boardman Urban MTB "We loved it, once we’d fitted MTB tyres, but consider the suspension- forked Team before you commit"
Is the gearing going to be ok for road use? any other suggestions... £750 Budget.
Thanks in advance!
