Saris Gran Fondo rack on an 05 Focus?

Looking to buy one of these racks but concerned about fitting it to an 05 Ford Focus because of the lip spoiler at the top of the tailgate. Anyone used this rack in a similar situation?

I haven't used mine on a Focus so can't help you with that, but I do have an as-new one that I'm looking to sell so if you do establish that it'll work then send me a PM if you're interested.

Isn't there a thing on the saris website that tells you whetwher they are compatible or not? I remember using it when buyinga saris bones?0

There is, but it doesn't include all cars that are compatible. It didn't list mine, but I emailed Saris and they told me it'd work. Some of the more knowledgeable retailers should know as well.More problems but still living....0 -
On the Saris website it suggests you need "hatch huggers" as an extra, whatever they are. It's just that the lip spoiler seems quite fragile to be hooking straps on. Hence the reason for some info from someone who's fitted one.-- "I am but a spoke in the wheel of life" -- Ghandi0
