There are some bigger pics on Flickr.

Build still incomplete but took her out for her maiden 100k today and I'm not disappointed. Every bit of effort you put into the pedals makes the bike shoot off like an arrow. Steering / tracking downhill is not quite as precise as my CAAD9 but I think that's down to the 3T fork on the 9.... I probably just need to get used to the 10. Comfort is about the same - never harsh but really planted and acceleration is even better - probably due to the lower weight. The brakes are something else - supremely powerful and modulation is in a totally different league.

That isn't just 'yet another CAAD 10', that is a fine fine example. Enjoy!

I'm absolutely loving mine and it's bog standard with 105, I can't wait to feel how it rides when I put some nice wheels and tyres on.

I can't remember the standard CAAD10 DA I test ridden looking that good.

    Very nice indeed, enjoy!

  • Thanks for all the positive comments :D I'm itching to get the cranks and stem in to complete the build, there's nothing wrong with the FSA cranks whatsoever and they are plenty stiff enough but aesthetically it's like having a splinter in my finger that I just can't get out :x

I didn't have a target weight in mind when planning it all out but it's turned out pleasantly light - in fact on hills on my usual route I am finding I was climbing 2 or 3 gears higher than I usually would on my CAAD9 which is 6.8Kg . Will have to wait and see what the cranks do to the overall weight and if it brings it down another 100g+ I may consider going for a Recon cassette and some Powercordz cables to try and get it down below 6kg

I absolutely love the Zipp super short reach bars but they are relatively heavy at 258g so could easily save another 70 or 80g there by swapping to carbon. Will have to wait and see if Zipp bring out SSR in the carbon bar range in the future

    top totty machine, nice pics
  • Few winter upgrades & part swap out / maintenance

Praxis chainrings, well because they are black and aesthetically pleasing. They also saved 38 grams over the stock FSA item. Front shifting is very sweet. Apologies for the poor quality instagram photo

Current weight is 6.89 Kg with the Kysriums, GSC10 and K Edge Garmin mount.

Am considering new cockpit, as much as I love the super short reach Zipp bars for some reason they give me shoulder pain after about 3hrs in the saddle with a lot of that in the drops and I think it's the shallow inner bend. The only other alternative would be a more ergonomic bar and I quite fancy the shape of the new Deda Superleggera

The fact that it's also available in ghosted black finish sort of sweetens it a little. But Deda then wouldn't match the rest of the cockpit so that would need changing... it never ends....

Great bike....lovely finish, wheels brakes the lot, except I've never liked the set back Thomson posts, just not a natural line from the seat post.

  • Thanks, yeah I swapped back to the stock Cannondale C2 seatpost a while back after it slipped on a couple of rides despite being torqued up to spec. The C2 is indeed straight so looks better. The Thomson has gone back on my CAAD9 and no problems with slippage on that :?
