TK is turn key, look at the pic carefully, there's no cable to the fork top, the blue dial you see on top of the forks is the TK, you turn it by hand, not handlebar mounted

But you can buy an after market poploc for the handlebar I believe if you wish. I have one for my older Recons - quite handy but I have a fork top one on my hardtail and it is no worse really.

For the OP's info Nick and Supersonic are pretty much the guru's of bike knowledge on here - if they say it is so it probably is (although Nick does have a tendency not to explain himself too clearly sometimes!)

ok cheers for that to clear it up :)

    do you think http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/products.p ... 1b4s2p3484

is a worthy upgrade over the canyon below being £100 more. Or is the canyon better specced still.

this may interest you, a much better fork and would probably work out around the same price as the giant http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/k1830/ ... ml?mfid=52 or if you don't like black http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/k1830/ ... ml?mfid=52 ,it also has the handlebar mounted lock out

  • Yes i did order the ZR 6 from the German site. Ordered on the 14th and it has not arrived yet. If you haven't ordered anything by the time it comes, I will of course let you know what it's like.
  • Good grief...

TK refers to RockShox's TurnKey damper, which is their basic damper as opposed to Motion Control which is better.

If you want to add a bar-mounted lockout lever to a RS fork that doesn't have it you will need to change the damper as the PopLoc lever needs a return spring in the damper to work.

The lockout on the RS forks isn't really a true lockout, it just significantly increases the compression damping which gives you the same effect but still allows the fork to compress under heavy hits.

Oh, and that Giant XTC is only available in XS - not really suitable for a 6'er! Look at Large/19" frames as a starting point.

If you look at the specs on canyons site and click on the fork it will give you the specs and it says that it is a turn key fork. Ive got motion control on my Nerve xc and havent really used it.
  • Motion Control and TurnKey refer to the damper's internals - nothing to do with external controls!
