Carerra Subway gears question
Hello,
I posted this on the road bike section but think it may be more suited to this section...
I am 100% noob when it comes to cycling/commuting semi-seriously so please forgive me if this is a really silly question.
I bought this bike last week and have been using it to commute to work every day this week which is a 6 mile round trip.

One thing I've noticed is that when using the mid range gears (such as 2/5) the chain seems pretty noisy It's still fairly smooth but is this normal?
I don't notice it so much when I change gears to go up or down hill.
Also, would be interested if someone could recommend a more comfortable seat!
Any feedback would be great.
Kind Regards
HH

Depends what you mean by a comfortable saddle. One that fits is best. Charge Spoon seems to fit lots of butts.I don't do smileys.

Thanks for your help so far.
I've taken the bike in for a check and they adjusted the gears - I haven't managed to try it properly yet though.
As for seats - I'm looking at these two (the Spoon as per Cooldad's suggestion)

and

Does anyone have any experience of these or any other suggestions?
If it helps, I'm a bit overweight (15 stone) and lean a bit when cycling due to the position of the fixed handlebars.
The bike isn't particularly pricey so I would prefer not to go much over £50 for the saddle if possible.
Kind Regards

You can get a Spoon for £15-£20, and you'll sell it for £15 if you don't like it. Cheap. Wiggle - £15 but only white.
£17 here - black - http://www.tritoncycles.co.uk/products.php?show=2627I don't do smileys.

before buying a new saddle i would experiment with your height, tilt and set back as a few mm can make a lot of difference.i actually like the saddle that the new subways is based on over the new spoons.
