Hi
Im heading to Peebles on the Sunday for a week of mountain biking. Obviously I'm going to bike the red & black of Glentress and also Innerleithen, but was just wondering if there is any other trials(man made or natural) locally around this area that any locals may know of etc ?
Thanks
Ross

If you’ve got a week then check out some of the other 7 Stanes! From memory Ae is pretty close and the trails there are awesome – the last section is epic…0

Some good natural rides here:

I've done the medium one in a morning, it was pretty good.2011 Canyon XC 8.0 (Monza Race Red)
1996(?) dyna-tech titanium HT; pace RC-35's; Hope Ti Hubs etc etc

And don't forget the blue at Glentress - the last sections are superb.2011 Canyon XC 8.0 (Monza Race Red)

The Pentland Hills just south of Edinburgh - or about 20 mins north of Peebles - has some well-documented trails. But I'm sure you'll want to spend 3-4 days just at Glentress and Innerleithen.0

I wouldn't bother going to the pentlands, it's in my back garden but this summer's been so crap I'm hardly riding there, lots of damaged and soggy trails.
How are you with more difficult stuff? Innerleithen's DH and enduro trails are fantastic, bit harder to find the enduro stuff though. One of the best trails I've ever ridden is tucked away just off the downhill trails- you'll ride past it on the red but you'll probably not even notice it.
If you've got transport, then you could try Drumlanrig and Comrie Croft if you like natural-feeling, or Mabie or Dalbeattie if you like manmade. Kirroughtree's fab but further away. Kielder's good too on the way up (deadwater only though!)
Not really a fan of Ae tbh.Uncompromising extremist0 -

Proper offroad route either from Peebles or Inners.
Ae, Mabie and Dalbeattie are just over an hour from Peebles.
Drumlanrig is another option http://www.drumlanrig.com/drumlanrig-ou ... ain-biking
If you aquire OS78 Nithsdale there are some good trails in the hills above Wanlockhead
