my first bike help please?

im looking to spend up to £1500 on a bike i don't want to buy cheap im looking to push my self as much as i can, im not sure what to go for a hardtail or FSS.
I need a bike that can keep up with me as im a very motivated sports man i used to bmx as a teen so im not completely new to bikes and im a bit of a adrenaline junkie, iv got some amazing routs and trails near me but there are so many amazing bikes and makes out there i dont know where to start.
A few friends have talked about ghost but i don't want to just buy the first thing that comes up
Im pretty much looking for the best suggestions for my money, any help would be truly appreciated.

Depends what terrain you want to ride. Cross country? Moorland trails? or something a bit harder with drops and jumps?0
