Touring shoes recommendations please

Can anyone recommend touring shoes that can be used on normal pedals and pedals with toe-straps? All the shoes I have found so far have cleats or have no treads, which makes them difficult to use with normals pedals. I prefer not to use normal trainers because they tend to have a wide and soft sole.

    Most MTB shoes would probably work well. Even with cleats attached they still work on flat pedals. It's road/racing specific shoes which would cause problems.
