    Another in favour of the Algarve. I'm going next month for our annual trip. We stay in Pechao, just north of Faro and only 15 mins to my mates villa. The roads are fantastic, empty with as many hills and little villages that you could ever want.

    Great riding in every direction (except south of course!) and some wonderful twisting climbs through pine forests. Most people don't realise just how hilly the Algarve is....the highest point around is Foia at 900m (3000').

    And the best bit? The prices. As soon as you go inland from the touristy coastal areas the cheaper it gets. How about 7 euros for a 3 course lunch including soft drinks! And the little bar round the corner from the villa was charging about 90 cents for a bottle of beer! Oh, I can't wait! :lol:
