I was sat in the lounge, eating second breakfast this morning when I heard a loud hissing sound, couldn't work out what it was. There are four bikes in the lounge so took me a few seconds to work out which wheel the sound was coming from.

It was the one with the flat tyre! Last rode this bike two days ago on a 50k ride.

Really excited, not had a puncture on this bike, never had to remove a wheel, never had to take a tyre off...so you can see my excitement.

Would the tyre be easy to take off the rim? Would it be a pig to put back on the rim? Would the excitement never end...

    talk about a lucky place to get a puncture! Bet this post would have a different tone if it happened on a dual carriageway 40 miles from home at 3 am in the morning with the rain pi$$ing down!

    Sorry I didn't reply before but there was this paint I had to watch...

    Anyway, dropped out the wheel lifted the tyre from the rim using my thumbs, tube had 2cm split, (cheng sing corp tube WTF how to save a few pence on a new bike!) fitted good quality tube put tyre back on using my thumbs, had the Park Tools tyre levers to hand but didn't need them, easy peasy.

    Job done, excitement over for the day, back to hammock.

    @jonomc4 Rain? :D
