Heading the Prestatyn for a few days soon. Are there any 'must ride' roads in the area, preferably low traffic and very scenic :)

  • Used to live in the area, taking your climbing legs?

Head inland to the back of town and up the hill to a little place called Gwaenysgor - it's a bit steep! Then around the villages eg Llanasa, Trelawnyd.

I'd avoid the coast and main roads - the holiday traffic can be a nightmare.

Quite miss the old place now.

  • Dont mind a bit of climbing :)

How is the Llanberis Pass for traffic? Would like some scenery like that but dont want to risk life and limb for it.

Done it a few times - never been a problem. Plenty of nice roads to ride - I'd just explore.

Vale of Clwyd and the Clwydian Mountain range, plenty of nice B and unclassified roads to get off the main roads. Have a wonder down to Ruthin and Denbigh you can mix flat with lumpy as you fancy. 8)
  • There's a rough ride in Rhyl - sheepteeths mum. :D
