Size XL, Ridley Phaeton R
(http://www.ridley-bikes.com/pd/gb/en-gb ... haeton%20r)
Upgraded groupset to Campagnolo Athena 11 speed. I use this mainly as a training ride as I have a Noah (lifelong ambition realised!) frame to build up.
I used to own a Cervelo Soloist S1, and have to say that this beats the Cervelo hands down. It has great straight line speed and very confident cornering. It rewards your efforts and the power transfer is superb.
I found my Cervelo Soloist S1 to be a great bike but it had a noodly, twitchy rear end. This however has very steady handling. I'm a big and powerful rider (1.935m and 90kg) rider, and this bike means I don't have to hold back at all.
I bought the frame knowing I was getting a Noah, but I have to say that this bike is the equal of many top end carbons I've ridden.
If the Phaeton is this good, the Noah is going to be otherworldy!

Nice bike! I do think the XL sizes of these bikes do look a bit odd though
Road - Dolan Preffisio
MTB - On-One Inbred
I have no idea what's going on here.0 -
Thanks guys.
I only ever notice how big it is when I park up next to others. It makes a 56 or even 58 look very small! I could comfortably ride an L as well, but I've always liked bigger bikes. One of my friends is 5ft5 and rides a 53 Colnago C40, which looks like a toy next to this!
It's my 4th Ridley. They are incredibly well made bikes. I've had my leg over Pinarellos, Cervelos. Looks, Colnagos, Treks and Scotts ... and I always go back to Ridley.
That makes me sound rich...not true. I've a mate who's a dealer...bikes that is!0 -
