This could have gone into a couple of categories but I thought Cake Stop might be the right one.

I am looking to do a combined cycling/beach holiday next year.

The cycling for me, as I hate beaches, and the beach for my wife, who hates cycling. Looking at some of the training camp holidays they seem geared for March/April and maybe not suited for both needs.

Has anyone else had this problem and managed to solve it? Any recommendations, other than the obvious book two different holidays.

Book your holiday in Port Pollensa, Mallorca.
Take your bike or rent one. They are very well equipped for cyclists out there.
You do your cycling while she is at the beach.
Everybody wins. Worked for me the first week in May!
She joined me for a week following my weeks cycling with the guys so I got 2 weeks out of it. :P
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

The Belvedere in Riccione,Italy. Good beach(es) on that coast and enough cycling to satisfy even the most hardened rider. Food is stupendously good and vast amounts of it. Hotel is a DeRosa centre and you can hire a good ike from them incl. the higher end stuff with Di2 if you are in early enough. Cycling stops by mid-June I think a it's too hot and the beach trade takes over.

Our club goes here each year at the start of May:

We go with a Swiss sports tour company http://www.eitzinger.ch. They have a bike shop on site and you can rent Cube road (carbon and aluminium), mountain and leisure bikes whether you arrange your trip through them or not. There is also a mechanic, an English guy called Paul, who will help you out if you need any spannering done on your own bike.

The cycling is excellent. Quiet roads, good surfaces, tolerant drivers and some really good climbs from sea level to 1000 m. The hotel is admittedly looking a litte 'tired' in places (then again so is the whole of Spain!) but isn't too bad in all honesty. Breakfast and Evening Meal are available full board and are all buffet style so you'll never go hungry. The beach is a 2 minute walk from the bar/restaurant and they have a beachfront bar too!

There's plenty of other sporting and non-sporting activities for non-cyclists to do including coach trips to Tarragona and Barcelona.

Alcudia just down the road from Porto Pollensa. I was there in last May. Rented a Willier carbon/campag Centaur E21 day. Much to my surprise Team Sky/GB were in hotel 2 mins away and I saw the girls out training most days. Going back in Oct for another week.

A few years ago we went to Cyprus for 2 wks. I took my bike and went out most mornings for up to 2hrs before Mrs V got up (before it got too hot) then we had the rest of the day together. Some time was spent on the beach, some by the pool & some doing the other stuff - shopping, seeing the sights etc. Everyone happy...
