I have a standard pump brought from amazon and went to pump up my tires today an realised it is a different fitting. Do i need to buy an adapter?

You'll be able to use that. You normally have to unscrew the cap and reverse a couple of the bits inside. Did it come with any insructions?

I have a similair pump for out on the road but you will want a Track pump for home use as this one takes a lot of effort to get to Road Tyre pressures

    Product Features
    Alloy barrel and shaft
    Moulded soft kraton handle
    Reversible schrader and presta valve
Pumps air on both inward and outward stroke
Large dial for easy gauge reading
You need to fiddle with it a bit more or if that fails read the instructions!

Good luck inflating your tyres to 100psi with that thing though.
