Hi,

I can't seem to find Giant Defy 1 anywhere. To find it on a sale would be even better! :)

Thank you,
Gunnar

  • I was looking around for one too, there don't seem to be many around anymore anywhere. But Giants 2013 looks pretty similar I think?

May I ask why there is a lot of attention to the Giant Defy series? They seem really popular and have had very good feedback. I am not very familiar with Giant so would be appreciative if someone could explain what their ingredients towards success are.

I bought mine from Pedal On in Tadley, Hampshire (Pedalon.co.uk) about 3/4 weeks ago and they had a at least 4 of the 2012 model in stock then.

Not sure when the 2013 model is due for release.

They are the biggest bike manufacturer in the world and also own Merida bikes and 49% of Specialized Bikes.

They make alot of frames for other bike companies and generally their frames are considered one of the best frames money can buy.

Their bikes are well put together, all have quality components and groupset and their frames (Aluminium and Carbon) are amazingly well put together.
  • If I go for Defy 1 2013, how long until it will go on a sale? 1 year?

If I buy a 2013 now, is it most likely gonna be cheapest on f.ex. wiggle or same price everywhere?

    Its just a great bike.

Popularity really started to pick up after the reviews started coming out eg. Cycling+, Bikeradar etc. with tag lines like "the best riding bike we know of for under £1000"

and a lot of dealers haven't had them for months. (and had waiting lists for months before that)

I'm just glad I picked mine up in January.. before the reviews hit. It proves my good taste in bikes and I didn't have to wait for it :D
