    Where? When? How? Who? What?

That's an open ended question you asked. What I take depends on the answers to my questions above.

I rode with a guy who carried one once. He actually disappeared off into the bushes for a while to use it.
Seemed a bit weird but he does really long rides.

In Sherwood Pines I'd probably take a book to alleviate the boredom.

But somewhere else well populated but more interesting - tube, pump, basic tools, phone, water, wallet (or cash and a card).

Somewhere further from populations, same but maybe a snack and a lightweight jacket, perhaps a medi kit.

Do a search, there's lots of info on this topic, don't think you will need a full survival kit for sherwood pines though, the one everybody misses is a spare mech hanger, tape one under you seat job done.
A berm? were you expecting one?

Most important in my eyes; bike and clothes.

Sherwood Pines is a too smaller place to really worry about packing for a full on expedition. All you need is spare tube/s, multi-tool, tyre-levers, pump, drink, phone and cash.

You wouldn't up naked and without a bike for a ride in Sherwood Pines though would you? That's for a different forum!

I wouldn't no, but no one above seems to have classed these 2 things as an 'essential'.......each to there own!

No that's still weird! If you get your fuelling right you shouldn't need to. Don't see (good) 24 hour racers going for a dump!

I rarely take any more than:

    -tube
    -(CO2) pump
    -phone
    -credit card and £10
    -multi-tool
    -water bottle

Guess it depends whether or not you are first thing in the morning regular or not. I wouldn't make it out the front door on a morning.

    What, Ever?
I've got a specialist DVD at home that is just 3 hours of endurance athletes taking the kids to the pool.

You got it off your favourite 'specialist' website? I thought they were illegal?

I'd have to tape an entire frame or at least a rear triangle under my seat as I dont have replaceable hangers.

is your frame a real steel one? If so, the reason you don't have a replaceable hanger is because you can bend steel ones back into shape.
