only just dowloaded Strava, and ended up in the bottom 3/4 on all 4 segments I did!
Only just started riding though, so I'm sure I'll creep up on them with some more training!0 -

gets addictive real quick!0 -
Gazzaputt - It has it's moments. Mostly for benchmarking your own fitness against itself (for me beating times I set in 2009) on regularly ridden segments and chasing your friends times (pointless but fun). Sounds like you either train properly or even worse than I do...0

I cannot wait to get this on wednesday. I'm getting a new phone that I can use strava with.
I've been looking through all the segments in my area, and when I go through it, see what I average on my computer.
Hoping to spend a day to try and thrash as many as I can haha
Great idea I must say!

Just got 1st of 90, which I'm happy about, but after seeing what some of you guys have done it makes mine look insignificant.0
-
I've got a 1st out of 91 on a segment that isn't particularly impressive but this is my proudest achievement: http://app.strava.com/segments/984583 only 5th out of 21 but seeing as I only aimed at getting up it without putting a foot down, not too bad! Would also like to add that was half way through a hard 70 miler, unlike the leader who just rode that hill and one other on a ride to claim KOM, not that I'm bitter or anything0

I can't figure this one out, I must be missing something:

My current rank is 1st out of 50...yet the chap in second has the KOM for the segment...thats bizarre.0 -
SO this is a boasting post.... I see, well I have nothing to boast about only done 5 rides as a newbie to cycling. 2 are Strava, in the 40's which gives me an aim. But if there is something I should boast about then perhaps I should say I have a big..... perhaps notDon't call me sir I work for a living0

I've not ridden any really popular Strava's but this is my personal fave on which I am KOM on:

The thing I like about Strava is that it makes solo rides more interesting. I generally ride when everyone else isn't due to either work or family commitments. Trying to beat your best time or someone elses actually helps me get fitter and faster - and I've only had a 'proper' racer for a few years so am fairly newbie to all this cycling lark.
I did sneak out for a ride today before the rain came too:

I'm tied on this one. It's one of the only reasonably flat stretches of road in the area!

There - fixed that for you0 -
1st out of 764 on Coll de la Creueta in Majorca.
1st of 589 on Sa Calobra (beach to cafe) also in Majorca.
1st of 563 on Cap d Formentor.
1st of 338 on Snake Pass.
Currently up to 12 pages of KOM's (I've been riding with GPS for years).
If anyone's interested I'm starting to ramp up the training for hillclimb season so feel free to follow me and enjoy my suffering!

Only 12 - I know someone with 51... (which is supposedly the most, there's an MTB'er in California who's only a couple of hundred behind)Jibbering Sports Stuff: http://jibbering.com/sports/0 -

Losing a KOM by having the Tour of Britain breeze past ain't so bad!0 -

Try harder or create your own segments on unique routes but you stand the chance of being mid-table on a new segment too. One final option is to sell the Cannondale and stick to the Brommie on the train
Changing this slightly, how old are the segments you are leading? I'm leading segments going back to April 2010, maybe earlier.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0 -

Yeah-thoroughly trounced by a bunch of guys nearing the end of a 150km ride. That's me put firmly in my place.
Maybe they were saving themselves to beat my record.0 -

I'm KOM of one from May 2009, weirdly though it's also a segment I'm 5th overall on it - I was spectating a womens road race and riders from the 3 different years of running since are faster. No idea why none of the 50 odd people have gone faster since as I was just pootling up (253 watts against a 440watt+ possible for the duration)
Hold a 1st of 366 of a route in Surrey which is more surprising given how popular this area is - and I wouldn't've been going for it before.
Also still hold Dunsfold Park Lap from Aug 2009, so I guess the speed of racing there has really gone down?Jibbering Sports Stuff: http://jibbering.com/sports/0
