Handlebar stem sizing.

Im about to change the handlebar stem on my bike to an adjustable one for better riding comfort. I have found one with the correct diameters for the handlebar and fork stem. Whats got me puzzled is that they dont tell you where the lenth of the stem is taken from. Am I correct in thinking its between the handle bar center and fork stem center :?:

They are not for mtbs. Fit a fixed stem and bar to get your riding position.

Because the length at 180 is zero or at full length in the 90.

Just work out what you need and buy a combo to suit.
