Chain Question

Hi,
I'm looking to convert to 1x10 soon on my Cube LTD Team.
Been a while since I have done any tech stuff on a bike.
I assume my chain is Shimano.
I will have to split the chain to remove the FD, how can I rejoin it, can I just use a quick connector.
Or should I buy a new chain complete with connector, if so, any reccommendations?
thanks

Split at the pin and put in a quick link, chech the chain's wear first though.0

Hi,
Thanks, one like the KMC misssing link.
Can these links be reused once fitted?
thanks

The KMC ones can be re-used, I have a pair and they're fine.
The SRAM ones are Powerlock (not link) and can't be re-used.
Shimano don't make tool-free links at all as far as I know.
So, use KMC!
edit: this is all 10-speed, SRAM 9-speed powerlinks can be re-used, obviously.0 -
Thanks for the info,
gonna go with a KMC X10SL
looks good

So can I use a KMC missing link on my existing shimano 10 speed chain?
and also reuse later
thanks

I wouldn't use a new link on a stretched chain, or a pretty old one on a brand new chain though.0 -
It won't make any difference. Chains don't stretch as such, the rollers wear allowing some play so they appear to 'stretch'.I don't do smileys.
