Planning on a little ride next week after work. Can any local riders tell me what condition the trail is in.

If tips and 'off piste' info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Was over there yesterday (for the first time in a couple of months).

The waymarked trail is in a 'mixed' condition I would say. The surfaced sections are fine on the whole, but the 'natural' surface sections are a mix of nice hardpack and areas that are still soft, muddy and hard to ride.

Biggest problem I think are the areas where the logging machinery has cut across the trail leaving mahoosive ruts that have filled with water and/or thin sticky mud.

Overall it's eminently rideable as long as you don't mind a bit of mud and have the right tyres for mixed conditions.

Main off-piste sections are in yellow below (waymarked route is blue) - best area is that bottom left with more off-piste trails than just the major one shown if you look around a bit.

thanks mate, will give it a whirl.

I did some riding in the old quarry, fire roads and forests of boughton estates near geddington over the weekend.

they have been harvesting the forest their too and the pictures you have posted look identical conditions.
