Hi one of the bolts worked loose from my SKS Chromoplastic Mudguards. a quick google revealed this wiggle page but the item is discontinued. http://www.wiggle.co.uk/sks-chromoplast ... ing-bolts/

I can't find them anywhere else? I know its a simple nut and bolt, any ideas which one? M4? M5? Length? Nut type? Thanks.

    tried popping into your LBS?
I know its a simple nut and bolt,
can not really think of any "simple" bolts on a SKS set.

and as the wiggle link does not have a picture i am guessing it is the one with the hole in it?

    tried calling SJS Cycles?

Hmm no, see a previous thread: LBS Opening Hours Rant. I will have to sort it at the weekend.

It is a simple one as it just attaches the stays. I guess I should just remove the other one and look for something similar.
  • Did you keep the fitting instructions? Normally every component has it's own code number and I think can be ordered from SKS themselves. It may be worthwile emailing them directly to ask.

Do you mean the bolt that goes through the stay and into the fork, near the axle of the wheel?

They're called draw bolts, usally available at SJS cycles.

If it is the draw bolt as above, I have a few spares you can have.
  • Thanks for the replies, a visit to two LBS shops proved futile over the weekend. Although I did learn they are called socket cap screws.

In the end I went to Halfords and bought some similar bolts and some standard nuts and now I have several spares. M5 worked pretty well.

The guards were fitted by the LBS when I bought the bike so I never had any instructions with them.

Oh one other thing - I learned that I don't have the chromoplastics, I have the commuter set.
