It was on my local news last night that Harvey Haddon, the home of Notts AC are having the indoor training facility shut down by the council to save money.

I think it's been closed for a while.

My son was there taking photos for a sporting event at the out door track and we shocked to see what looks like a fairly modern building closed up and unused that particular weekend (mid May).

The older I get, the better I was.

The dissenter is every human being at those moments of his life when he resigns
momentarily from the herd and thinks for himself.
  • I'm just looking forward to The Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome here in Glasgow!

Not much use for the people of Nottingham though, I admit, and to be fair, that is for the Commonwealths anyway! :D

I hate to tell you but not only London paid for it.

    It wasn't London only venues.

    It wasn't london only competitors.

Like it or not, the Country needs London. London needs the rest of the Country.

    London for independance!
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

Didn't take long for the gaps to appear again then :(
  • The track's been derelict for years, it was resurfaced once, bodged, the surface was too soft.
Until Derby's velodrome gets built (If it does!), then Midlanders are reduced to using Forest Town's museum piece, or travel to Manchester or London.
Remember that you are an Englishman and thus have won first prize in the lottery of life.

Ahh yes, those cuts to sports funding and a shifty change to the policy on school playing fields...

The weeds are growing in Stratford...

And London? I think we'd learn to live without it. One day Old father Thames and a North Sea storm surge may force us to...

Public services are being cut all across the country, including London. Nothing to do with the olympics.

I know. However, is it not rank hypocrisy to be coming out with all this guff about galvanizing the next generation of potential athletes whilst closing sporting facilities and relaxing the rules on school playing fields.

Good lord, they must thin we all came down with the last shower.
