just bought a giant nrs 2004 model. the rear air shock does not have the rebound adjustment
i thought they all came with a rebound adjusting knob.
the back end works ok . tested of a curb and no pogo effect etc
just wondered if anyone knows if they fit a shock with a pre set rebound
on ?
my first impressions where the knob had been snapped off but doesnt appear to be any fitment
there.

and the fitted shock is a?

if a fox it should be a Float R with rebound

If a Giant version of the Fox it should also have rebound.

if you see the what shocks FAQ (and you can open excel files) the NRS; NRS3 from 2004 and the 2005 NRS had Fox Float R shocks.

TBH you are best posting pics. side on and also where the adjuster may have been.

you may not even have the correct shock fitted as well the frame is getting on abit.

the hole at rear under serial number is threaded
the hole at front no threads
i have adjusted the "no sag" which is fine. the shock rebounds spot on when i put pressure on saddle
    and release.

looks like the rebound has been knocked off/fallen off.

    bugger
    is this replaceable at all?
  • strange thing. I've just disassembled rebound adjuster and there is nothing which it can adjust %) Just a hole with a thread in aluminium cell..
    So Giant just fooling us?

I ended up buying a replacement shock off e bay
The difference in adjustment is negligible to say the least!
But i am no expert .
  • I found out what what was wrong. The shock was without air when I screwed out adjuster. Then I pumped it up and some small thing comes up in the hole. So the adjuster is working fine
