Mehning Losers!

That closing ceremony went on far too long. They could have cut out about 30/40 mins of it and it would have been just as good. Got to say though, I think Rio will be quite spectacular. Wonder if I can get me some tickets. Hmmm.

Today, I think my road bike should arrive as it's been tracked in Leeds. So I will probably be tinkering with that for most the day. Minion is in late as she played a gig last night

That's about it really.

Laters!

Have fun with your road bike

just dont put too much pressure on the pedals when dropping from the big cog..... can lead to a case of the fishtails... however it could be seen as having big burly cadel slaughtering power.....

bit of a meh day.... woke up way too early and had not a lot to do at work..... so it has dragged in.... hometime very soon and a snooze is in order

    Mornin' exes and double exes

I feel f**king dreadful. However, seeing as it was neither a dose of the Mark Fowlers, nor man-flu, I MTFU'd and rode to work.

I shall busy myself in work by, well, keeping busy. And maybe hunting bacons.

Onwards! To coffee! Then more coffee!

    Hello Scuttlers

Grumpy today, got woken at ten and eleven last night to have three time I started at work changed and then couldn't doze off again, meaning I'm knackered, at least I'll sleep tonight.

8 thought the Olympics were excellent . My personal highlight was seeing Beth Tweddle finally winning a medal after years of trying....I thought Laura Bechtolsheimer rode her beautifully in the dressage and deserved more than a bronze. Looking forward to actually watching the closing ceremony when I get home later

I’m knackered this morning. Had a good ride out on the bike at the weekend for the first time in eight weeks and now my legs are suffering.

I have also decided that eating lots of the minion’s offerings does not help with the hill climbing part of mountain biking. Those extra couple of pounds really make a difference.

On the plus side I am back to working sensible hours and should manage to get to see some of the Olympics that I’ve recorded.

Need lots of tea to see me through until lunchtime.

    Later……

First day back at work after just over a week off and I really don't want to be here. Think I'll be taking it easy as there's no-one else here, except the caretaker. Need to replace my front shifter cable so might just go and do that before stopping for lunch.

    Morning Crudmongs,

Back from holiday in the flattest place in England - not sure my bike time counted as 'mountain' biking but I did some anyway. Now feeling the post holiday blues and no Olympics to fill the gaps in the day - must find something useful to do instead...

    Happy Monday...

Back from a long weekend of dry riding in Wales & FOD, interspersed with copious amounts of alcohol and my mate arm wrestling valley girls in the refreshment bar.... Strongbow & orange WTF?... and landlord Adrian performing card tricks much to our befuddled amusement... to be honest he could have shown me any card by the end of the night and i'd still have been clapping like a seal.

    Good times

    Afternoon tards and tardettes

Off this afternoon so gonna be spending it washing all my race kit from the weekend, sheepshit, sweat and mud doesn't give off a great smell when you take it out of the bag. Still super happy at taking 7th in masters at the Welsh DH champs at Moelfre yesterday although my legs felt like they were about to fall off riding into work this morning, makes a change being in pain and it not being because of a crash 8) think the bike could be treated to a service later aswell if i can be arsed.

Today, I think my road bike should arrive
    fukking weirdo.

Today has had a craptastic start. I barely slept at all last night, eventually got up way later than I'd intended to a rainy day, and I got a puncture on the ride to work.
    Whoop de do.
On the plus side, things can only get better from here

    That's me!

It's arrived! Now I need to buy some real pedals for it, and not the rubbish ones it came with.

By real pedals, I hope you mean big chunky flats. Which reminds me, I need to order some big flats for my....er... totally normal, not even remotely ghey bike.
  • Erm, yes, of course I do... ahem, errr, big fat chunky pedals....

Here's a video to take the light off me. Team GB video (Jessica Ennis looks damn hot!)

I'm not kidding about the flats you know.
  • I know you're not. I don't mind clipless on roads, it's just off road that it fecks my knee up (and my confidence). I might stick with the flats it's come with for a while, until I get used to the strange geometry.

Evening, terrible day today. Had to leave at 5 o'clock this morning to get to work before traffic, had a rear tyre blowout on the M3. Got to site, which I had no hope of finishing in time, which was not helped by the site contact not turning up until 9.
