Good afternoon everyone, I've been looking at this forum for a while now and finally decided to join! I've been riding a specialised MTB for the last year a few times a week around 15-20 miles a time and now want to do some road riding. I went with my wife today to Evans @Gatwick to have a look around and ended up getting a couple of bikes. One for the wife (first bike in a long time) went for one of evans own pinnacle brand for her hybrid variant. I picked up the Fuji newest 2.0 2012. Now being completely new to riding I was just posting here to see what people make of Fuji bikes as having looked online there isn't much by the way of reviews and such like, and having read a few things on here I thought its the best place to ask. Here's the bike in question. http://www.fujibikes.com/bike/details/newest-203

Thanks in advance for any input, anything else I'd need would be greatly received. I.e equipment pedals tyres etc etc

Thanks again

Mike

  • I'm sure you'll enjoy your new bike but always risky coming on a forum asking a question like this especially if you're looking for confirmation you've got the best bike for the money. Everyone on here will have an opinion.
How good a buy you've got depends on what you paid for it?

To me aslong as its comfortable and fits me that's all I needed as this is an entry level bike to a degree. I appreciate it won't be to everyone's taste and that there maybe better bikes out there for the money or around a similar bracket. As long as its not terrible Im happy.

Exactly. So why ask for other people's opinions? :)

If you haven't already, I'd invest in some clipless pedals and shoes. Once you're used to them, you'l never look back.

To see if people have had good/bad experiences with this bike or similar so will know what to look out for :)
  • Believe me, you need not worry about your choice of bike. Enjoy it. :)

Cyclists these days are incredibly spoiled. At entry level you can bring home a bicycle lighter than those of relatively recent (mid to late 80s) Tour de France champions - weight isn't as important as many will make it out to be, however - and with luxuries that would have been unthinkable 20 years ago; given that a complete beginner on a limited budget can kit themselves out in really good cyclewear and ride a bike with clipless pedals, 9-10 speed cassettes, brifters and lightweight wheels, it's a great time to be a cyclist!
