Hi all - this is my first post here but I need some advice please? I'm looking to buy either the boardman team (£850) or boardman ht pro (£999)

Here are both reviews:

team:

Pro:
http://www.bikeradar.com/gear/category/ ... o-11-45094

Is it worth paying the extra £150 for the better spec?

Thanks

Yes, better fork (reba) and better drivetrain (X9 compared to X7)

Hi all i'm looking to get either a boardman team:

    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165499

    or the boardman pro:

    http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165499

Is it worth the extra cost?

I'm just starting out again at the age of 32 and am starting to hit the trails with friends and need something light and nimble that will help me keep up with them

Any advice on either would be much appreciated???

    Thanks

It's always worth paying the most you can afford......
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

All depends on what your max budget is as both are good bikes and more that capable for your requirements. If you are new to the sport I would get the Team and spend the rest on getting some proper quality kit and accessories as this is where you will feel the benefit.

    Cheers thats sound advice

I can afford the pro because i'm doing the bike to work scheme - so i can stretch to it

However I don't want to pay the maximum amount for the pro if the team is practically just as good. I'm not that clued up on bike equipment but I want this bike to be my bike to last me at least 5 years and I want to love it.

Both look good to me and obviously the pro will be better spec. I'd love to hear some comments from people on both bikes of their experience and thoughts on how good they are

If going C2W, make sure you know what the company/scheme intend to do at the end of the 12 months!
