Advice on new bike

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to road cycling(been a armchair addict for several years though) but just haven't got around to getting my first road bike yet. I've been looking around doing a good bit of research but there's so many options and differences it's easy to get confused.
My budget is below the £1000 mark. At this price range cheap CF frames start to appear on the market.
I guess my questions is, Are cheap CF frames better than Aluminum ones of the shame price?
or at this price is it best to avoid the CF as they will be poor quality?
Thanks.

I dont think there is a specific price point where carbon frames go from being rubbish to good as I'm sure there are loads of good ones under £1k. Buying a bike at this time of year is a double edged sword as you can pick up a spectacular bargain on a 2012 model but the range is limited. I would keep an open mind and go for the bike thats the best deal and you feel most comfortable on.0

Yet again if your new to it all make sure you budget for all the associated kit to go with it, it will only make it more enjoyable in the long run.
As the above has said the 2012 ranges are now limited in supply but can produce some real bargains - of which you could spend of other kit you need. Or wait a little while longer and get a 2013 brand spanker.2012 Giant TCR Composite 30
