Fury v Hoodoo? Help!

I know that this seems to be a regular question but my work is starting the cycle to work scheme with Halfords and from the reviews i've seen on bikerader the Carrera Fury and Voodoo Hoodoo seem the best value, the Hoodoo seems to come out higher on the review but i wasn't sure if the review for the Fury was graded down due to comparing it to previous models. I could probably spend more than five hundred but i'm not sure Halfords has anything better than these two.
I was sold on the Hoodoo but then a sales guy in Halfords said he thinks the Fury is hands down a better bike even though it is a £100 more.
I ride mostly xc and do push it pretty hard but can't afford a top of the range bike, i've got a Merida 20D but the set up is crap and it keeps slipping so basically i need the best value bike upgrade i can.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as i'm going round in circles at the mo.

If you can afford it get the Boardman, otherwise the Voodoo probably just scrapes it on parts for the price*, but both are good bikes and i would go with what you like the feel and look of between the two.
edit: Ive written that really badly.
*The fury is a better bike but im not sure its a £100 better one for the parts, although it does have a nice fork. For £500 the Voodoo is better value IMO.0 -
Not much in it, but I'd pick the Voodoo and buy some cake.
Wonder if he's on commission?
But either will do the job well.I don't do smileys.

The £650 one, can't remember the model sorry! But it is a lot of bike for the money and definitely worth the extra!0

Looks nice, i was looking at the Boardman Team as well, the spec looks great but there aren't too many reviews out there.
Thanks for all the help.0
