Plant X Model C wheel bearings
Hi,
I've got a set of planet x model C wheels.
Had them for 18 months, during which time they've been used in all weathers almost daily (although I was off the bike for 4 months during this time) on my commuter / training bike, covering probably 6000 miles. During this time I've performed no maintainance on them, but as they are a sealed bearing I dont think there is much I can do?
Anyway, the front wheel has developed some play, there is quite a bit of noticable side to side movement.
As they are sealed bearings I've assumed there is no adjustment possible, but can I replace the bearings? I cant see any listed on the planet x website.
Should they wear out this quickly?
I'll drop them an email too, but any help appreciated.
Cheers
Miles.

Knok the bearing out. I have a bearing removal tools but you may not so you will have to improvise somehow. Measure the bearings O>D, I.D and thikness and visit a bearing supplier and buy replaement. SKF make good bearings. The planet X bearing may not be of that quality.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

Thanks.
Yeah, I took the hub apart, the bearing on one side is goosed.
Its marked as a NBK 609 - 2RS. A quick bit of googling shows you can get 'budget' versions for less than a pound, with the SKF ones being £3.50 each.
