Hi there. Recently bought a Garmin Dakota 20. I have purchased the road maps and heart rate monitor and plan on using this as a cycling computer to track my routes. My question is does anybody know how to pause a workout?? The trip computer always seems to be running. Any help appreciated

If you are using it solely as cycling tracker, why the bloody hell didn't you buy the garmin 800?!
The pause workout is in the settings of the machine.
  • Because I got the Dakota 20 brand new in a box for £49. And i got a free Garmin heart rate monitor with it too. Lol. So couldn't turn it down and couldn't justify the extra £300 for the edge 800. Even though I know that would be better. Sorry to sound stupid but what do you mean the pause is in the settings?? Thanks for your time

So all that in the box for £49 , but no owners manual, or indeed the savvy to look it up on google!

  • NewTTer you are clearly an ignorant person. the dakota 20 does not have the ability to pause workouts which is why orion2463 has not been able to find that information anywhere. im sure he managed to find a manual but it doesnt mention about pausing because you simply cant do it. so get your facts right before you post meaningless comments that are no help to anybody.
  • NewTTer, what penkethj said. of course i got the manual but it doesnt mention it. also if you search on google you will realise that there is no information on the subject. hence why i used a bike forum so that other people that have this device could help. in fact i think that is exactly what bike forums are for. so do one!!

You really need help beyond that available on an internet forum, if you and the other ignorant rude a******e, are so bloody clever and know that it isnt possible why ask!!!!!
So as the other guy said why not buy an 800 which is designed to do the job, now you know why it was only £49.
  • well i now know this because i found out after the forum was started. the dakota 20 does most of the features of an 800 and for £49 is a steal. you need to get yourself a girlfriend, get laid or something. why post something so unhelpful on a forum. if your not gonna help don't bother posting. sort your life out you p***k!!
