Brake hoses and fittings

Hey guys, got a question about fittings and hoses. My mate dropped a set of Saint M810's on me with braided Goodridge hoses. Problem is that they're too short, and I'm kind of lost as to what I'd need to replace on them apart from new hoses since I've never worked with Goodridge before.

Alternatively, I could just dump the hoses entirely (not convinced that braided hoses even do anything) and just get some new hoses on them.

Cheers :D

The Goodridge is completely serviceable you just need to take it all apart and fit new hose which you can buy by the metre. Chain reaction sell it for £8 a metre.

ps all quality brake hose is braided just the Goodridge is steel braided not polyester braided.

It's not like fittings have changed in the last couple of years right? These are a few years old, they should be the same and re-usable?

Or kevlar braided, like most OEMs.

Using Kevlar for braiding brake hoses is just for marketing purposes. If you manage to burst a polyester braided hose your are the Incredible Hulk on horse steroids. With the extra cost of Kevlar I bet its used in tiny quantities just sufficent for the blurb to claim Kevlar hoses. Polyester braided hose will stop just as good as Steel or Kevlar braided.

Red brake hoses work better than any other colour this can be proved by the use of the interweb.

The blurb never mentions it though.

If it was me I would fit the new narrow bore SM-BH90 Saint M820 hoses with the longer banjo for improved heat dissipation.
