Just come back from my Friday Schwinn class. Pleased-as-punch as I have been offered the chance to ride at the Manchester Velodrome on what I assume is a private booking one weekend evening in September. Apparently track bikes and suitable shoes are available to hire (no lapping on my CX ).

Has anybody been? What is it like? Any experiences to share?

Best regards

I've been today, not for myself but taking my 9 year old son for a taster session.

What's it like? I have to say I am pretty well impressed. Seems fairly well organised, the track is bigger than I thought, and the banks are steeper than I was comfortable with. Hire bikes are of decent quality, not the cast iron clunkers I was scared of.

Sadly my son did not show any Jason Kenny tendencies, but he enjoyed it and wants to go back, and I'm going to see if we can both go on open sessions together so we can ride together.
