XT FC-M780 42/32/24 to 2x10

I've got a Canyon Nerve AM 7.0 with the following Crankset Shimano Deore XT FC-M780 42/32/24. I quite fancy the idea of going 2x10. The shifters appear to be swichable between 2 and 3 rings (also XT) so I'm assuming the front mech will work with this set up. Is it possible to do this by just replacing the 3 chain rings with 2 (i.e just the rings, not a whole new crankset), then a bit of mech faff?

yes you can use your cranks but i would not change the shifter setting just set the mech stops.

and fit a bash.

You don't need anything if you Just remove the inner ring
