Changing fork on GF Genesis 2 geometry bike

I have a Gary Fisher Hoo Koo e Koo, I think it is a 2009 model, with genesis 2 geometry and I would like to change the fork on it. Will it matter if I change it with a standard fork? The current one is an offset model.

Also what would be the maximum travel fork I could fit, I'd like something around 120mm, current fork is Recon SL 100mm

    i have the '10 Hkek and have thought about doing the same. Keep your eye on ebay. I have seen a few G2 big sur's being broken up and they came with a G2 fox air fork. Sorry cant be of any more help. I wouldnt have thought it would make that much difference to fit a standard fork tbh

    You could speak to someone like tftuned to see if you could get the internals upgraded and keep the current chassis
