Due to my mum passing away I decided that I would build myself a new bike as life is short and if it makes you/me happy then why not!
not sure about having my name on it but i can just peel in off I guess and its discrete
Only things left to do is decide if I like this saddle as much as my worn black slr and I would quite like a big chunky stem , that said once i start riding and stop looking at i'm sure I won't care!

Sweet! I do like the Kebels. What gears etc.. are you running on it? As for your name on it as you say its discreet, goes with the colour scheme etc.. and isn't really noticeable.Road - http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40044&t=12777154&p=16943702#p16943702

Very nicely understated finishing kit to show off the frame but you still notice the wheels and bars, it just works !
Campag with a Force chainset ? for the bb30 option I presume ? That work from here too !
Get the SLR on, I assume it's black ?
Which gruppo is it ?
Any idea of the weight ?
Where are the wheels from ?25th August 2013 12hrs 37mins 52.3 seconds 238km 5500mtrs FYRM Never again.0 -
Yep I put the force chainset on as It has a pf30 bb and campag don't make one.
Rest of the groupset is a centaur 10 speed that came off my old bike, was thinking about going for a chorus 11 speed but this works fine, that said sram red is nice!
Handlebars are deda newtons in a really nice gun metal colour, wheels are Chinese tubs that i've been pretty impressed with shod with veloflex carbon tubs, probably be fitting a bontrager xxx stem but I just want to make sure I get the right size, this is a 110 and it does seem right but of only ridden a few hundred meters on it!
weight is under 7.5kg which is good for me as i'm 80kg and like sprinting, so I value strength and stiffness over super lightweight0 -
Sorry for your loss.
The bike is stunning and I hope you get a few nice days in August to blast it around your favourite roads.Madone 4.9 2014

May your mom R.I.P.
I do like your bike and hope you will enjoy it as much as I do my KOM.
Kuota makes some great bikes and I am sure riders around the world will find the way to this smaller sized Italian company in the future.
After some problems with their 2009 &10 KOM they for sure found the right way not to compete within lightest frames available
I have gone with 32 and 38 deep wheels but the deeper ones on your bike definetly fit better to the KEBEL.
Totally agree not to go for lighter parts with your body weight.
Happy riding.0 -
Hi Pete,Really sorry about your mum.
Sweet sweet bike, Colin0 -
jesus this is getting expensive now!
After a long ride on the tubs I've decided I would prefer clinchers so put on my campag eurus on, but they just don't suit it so Guess i'm gonna have to get a pair of mavic cosmic0 -
Just looked at this and thought, that's a nice bike, then read the name on the top tube, Pete the mole catcher!
Looks lovely mate0 -

Ouch! I'm thinking of getting a Bianchi when my back is better, do you guys do them?0
-
-
No, we did look in to them but the margins are terrible and they are a bit snooty so we are sticking with Merida, Sabbath, kuota and scott.... still not sure if I've brought the right bike as i am the most indecisive person when it comes to bikes!
As the ridley was lovely and I was thinking about a sabbath mondays child.....mmmmmmm titanium
As for the Kom hunting, i did go to do north hill and the crank came loose  not convinced by the sram system0 -
I'm a campag man when it comes to road bikes, still not convinced by SRAM, looks plasticcy, sure it's good stuff though.0

not thinking about getting this instead! Put all the 105 gear on my cross bike but i just don't know! the merida is "only alloy2 but is the best feeling bike i've ever ridden :shock:0 -
Really? Might have to give one a try, they aren't expensive either are they? Do they do a campy one?0
-
£600 with sora or £995 with 105, campag? on a standard, non italian bike? I think not0
-
-
What's wrong with the Kebel then? Looks like a beast!0
-
Looks very, very nice. Eye catching in a way that many other plastic bikes are not. Can anyone explain to me the differences between a Kebel and a KOM, and what problems Kuota had with their '10 and '11 KOMs? (I am in the market for a new plastic bike).0

Thats a really nice bike but I do love Kebel's , hence why I brought the 2011. Would be interesting to know what's put you off like Paul asks. Im toying with Mavic Cosmic's as well but will proberbly stick with the mavic ksyrium elite's I have on it at the moment.

Maybe some Cruise Carbon 50mm tubs like I've got on mine?

that's very nice.
I am sticking with it and have some cosmics on order, only reason i was reconsidering was that the merida was gonna be silly cheap and such a good bike to ride0 -
I'll have to try a test ride of one of those bad boys . Are you working Saturday? Been trying to get down for ages but it's been a nightmare with work so busy.0
-
That does look gorgeous0

Nice one!
Friend of mine is riding exactly the same frame (not sure about size).
Unusual shaped tubes look great IRLBoardman Team C / 105 / Fulcrum Racing 30 -
