Abus brackets

Having a problem with the USH bracket. The downtube is very oblong shape, so it won't fit there. The top tube has a cable so it won't fit there either. I have panniers so it won't fit on the seat stays. Of course it'll fit in the pannier bags but if I have a lot of shopping just wasting space on lock(s)

I have two other bikes that I might pickup Abus brackets but the USH type looks the best as you have to unlock it to remove it from the bracket.

I use a couple of bungee cords to hold my D lock on top of my pannier rack - just wrap them round and round till it holds tight.

Can't believe it, can't get it to fit any of the three bikes! Not on any top or seat tube nor down tube. Chainstays- legs and feet get in the way.

From the picture it doesn't give idea feet get in the way if you fit it onto seat stays..

Those with elastic- have noticed they don't last long (perishes)

Could you shim the bracket so instead of bolting to the chainstay you clamp it round the top of the rack? Something like the rubber bits you get with light brackets, or failing that a few wraps of inner tube?

As for bungees - yeah, they do go off a bit over time - I found mine had the odd thread go (you know how they're loads of elastic threads wound together to make a bigger thickness - but nothing too dramatic. Plus, they're pretty cheap to replace - mine were still functioning after 18 months and were maybe £5 each?

Not with the bracket. if I use a few velcro ties that should be ok, as roughly as wide as the rack. Still doesn't sort out problem with the two other bikes though (one has rack but has bag ontop, and other is a road bike)
