Hi guys,

Have looked around before i posted this but wondering if anyone else has any ideas.
OK so its another strange noise thread im afraid!

I was convinced that it was coming from the front wheel but i then had an accident and completely replaced the front wheel and the same noise is still present.

It only seems to happen under pressure. It really does sound like it is coming from the front of the bike although I suspect the follow:

Headset
Crank
Bottom Bracket
Brake Disk\Pads

I have a voodoo marasa hybrid with brake disks. The noise is more of a creaking type noise and happens when standing or sitting down but only if i put a load near the front of the bike. So basically if i lean forward with pedalling it makes a noise. If i move the handlebars left and right without pedalling it makes a noise. Im struggling to know where to start to look!

Any advice on what to check would be appreciated!

So it's not the saddle/seatpost, not the front wheel, not the drivetrain.

Does it happen when the bike is stationary?

How tight is the front QR, is the wheel shifting slightly?
    MTB/CX

"As I said last time, it won't happen again."
  • I cant make it happen while stationary.
I had the QR quite tight then loosten it and still the same.
Im gonna take the brake disk off and see if it still happens.
Im more thinking towards headset though. How do you tell if its worn or gone?
