Not sure if I'm excited or scared. I have been asked to join the team to take part in a cycle ride from Pembrokeshire to Lowestoft. Which will mean just under 400 miles in 48 hours on a 45kg bike.

Yes, thats a 45kg fully laden ambulance paramedic bike, at least we'll have all the kit on hand when I lay dying at the side of the road.

First time I've attempted anything like this and most of the rest of the team will be cycle paramedics who ride these bikes for a living. Just hope I don't let the team down.

Any tips?

On the plus this is the excuse I needed to replace my accident damaged road bike. Palms getting sweaty waiting for the arrival of my new CAAD8. Excited as it's my second ever road bike and first one bought from new.
