Buying Advice Felt Nine vs Boardman Comp

First posting and looking for some guidance, I'm looking to get a MTB through cycle to work for use on leisure trails and road work, originally looking at a hybrid but wanted to be able to use on rougher ground, without loosing too much of the ease of use on roads.
I am looking at either the Felt Nine Comp 2012 or the Boardman MTB Comp / Comp 29er. What would people go with. I have mates with Boardmans and all rave about them but don't know a lot about Felt. We are using wiggle so any other brand for around the 500 to 800 mark you'd recommend would be interesting.
Thanks in advance for your help on this one

Are Wiggle sourcing a Boardman then? I thought they were Halfords only. But I'd take the 26er Boardman.2011 Carrera Fury
