Scott Equalizer shock issue

Hi folks
I've got a Scott Ransom with the Equalizer shock. Bought it a few weeks ago off a friend of a friend. It has been working fine up until the other day when it developed an annoying problem. I have found that it won't change into the longest travel setting. It will work fine locked out and at 90mm but every time I use the remote adjuster to go to full travel the adjuster just pings back to 90mm again.
Is it a lack of air in the shock or something worse? I havn't bottomed it out since I got it and it was working fine up until two days ago.
If anyone has any ideas I'd be really grateful.
