Has been totally overlooked as a gold medal prospect on the news programmes this morning. They've only mentioned Vicky P, Chris Hoy and those two tri-athlete brothers, yet she's in pole position half way through her event.

it's a bit more more of a lottery with an event like the omnium, there are so many possibilities that it doesn't always go to plan - so she wouldn't have been put on the 'bankers' list for the news outlets

Yer can't help but like LT though. Her dad must be chuffed to f, what with her doing well on the bike and her big brother being an established England test cricketer. Top family.

Jonathon, really a Seeth Efrikern, and not her brother at all before you argue a crap joke...

Laura will probably be the new poster girl for British Cycling now VP is retiring. I think the public will like her once she has done a few interviews as she comes across as very bubbly. Work to do still if she wants to win the omnium though.

She's been the star of the cycling, if not the whole games, for me. If she's this good now, she should be unbelievable in Rio.
    A good bet for SPOTY?

She's great. Her happiness today was infectious. Didn't have many reasons to smile today, but she more than made up for the bad stuff. Congratulations, Miss Trott!

It is alright for you..... By the time I got there they could have had a five course meal and still be five miles up the road!

As she's WC for the Omnium I think it's acceptable.

She has a nice set of pins too. Still trying to decide if she's knocked Steffi Graf off the top spot in 'my list'.........

Laura is 'close friends' with Dani King apparently.
